Overview

DreamWorks Imagination Celebration is a live indoor stage show bringing together characters and stories from Shrek, Trolls, Kung Fu Panda and other DreamWorks films.

The story follows friends Zayne and Amara as they try to rediscover the power of imagination, with DreamWorks characters joining the adventure through animation, puppetry, music and live performance.

The theatre is arranged around the performance space rather than as a simple traditional stage, helping the action feel closer to the audience.

The show lasts around 20 minutes and combines pop music, dancing and colourful visual effects.

Queue Details

The attraction is located inside the DreamWorks Theater.

Wheelchair users are directed through the Express entrance rather than the standard queue.

There is a short outdoor section before the queue moves indoors.

The indoor waiting area is flat and air-conditioned, with video content playing while guests wait. The videos include subtitles.

Guests are admitted into the theatre together for each scheduled performance.

The theatre itself is step-free and carpeted.

Transfer Info

No transfer is required.

Wheelchair, ECV and powered-mobility-device users can remain in their mobility device throughout the performance.

The theatre is arranged in a circular layout with bench-style seating.

Accessible wheelchair spaces are positioned along the back row, with companion seating nearby. There is space for approximately six wheelchair users.

The standard benches are arranged on a slight slope, but there are no steps within the theatre.

There are no restraints, boarding steps or moving platforms.

Sensory Experience

DreamWorks Imagination Celebration is physically stationary but energetic, colourful and fairly loud.

Music plays at theatrical volume, with high-energy dancing and live performers moving around the performance space.

Large animated imagery and puppets are used alongside the live cast, so attention frequently shifts between different parts of the theatre.

Performers can come relatively close to the audience.

Lighting changes throughout the production, including darker sections and brighter musical sequences.

There are loud and sudden sounds, and the combination of music, character voices, movement and audience reactions can make the theatre feel busy.

There is no audience movement, water ride effect or restraint.

Wheelchair and ECV users experience the same physical show effects as guests using the standard seating.

Practical Tips

If being close to performers or surrounded by activity is uncomfortable, the wheelchair spaces along the back row may provide a little more distance from the central performance area.

Performances run at scheduled times, so check the Universal app before heading over rather than assuming another show will begin immediately.

The show lasts around 20 minutes, so it can be an easy indoor attraction to fit between longer waits elsewhere in DreamWorks Land.

DreamWorks has assembled ogres, trolls, pandas and assorted animated chaos to teach everyone about imagination. Apparently a PowerPoint presentation was considered insufficient.
