Hollywood Studios
Park Overview
Disney’s Hollywood Studios combines major rides, live entertainment and immersive themed areas including Hollywood Boulevard, Echo Lake, Grand Avenue, Pixar Plaza, Toy Story Land, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Animation Courtyard and Sunset Boulevard.
The park is relatively compact compared with EPCOT and Animal Kingdom, but visitors can still expect significant walking or wheeling over a full day. Public routes are generally step-free, although areas around the Chinese Theatre, Toy Story Land, Galaxy’s Edge and major show exits can become heavily congested. Attraction boarding requirements vary considerably, so check individual attraction pages for detailed wheelchair access, transfer and sensory information.
Getting There & Leaving
How to reach the park, what the arrival actually involves, and what to expect when it’s time to head home.
Disney Resort hotel → bus, Disney Skyliner, FriendShip Boat or walking route → Disney’s Hollywood Studios entrance
Driving or rideshare → Hollywood Studios parking/drop-off area → park entrance
Staying On-Site Resort buses, Skyliner, boats and walking routes
Guests staying at Disney Resort hotels may be able to reach Hollywood Studios by bus, Disney Skyliner, FriendShip Boat or on foot, depending on where they are staying.
Disney buses: wheelchair and ECV users can remain in their mobility device. The driver deploys the accessible ramp/lift at the rear door so the device can roll aboard, then positions and secures it in one of the designated mobility-device spaces. Most buses can accommodate up to two wheelchairs or ECVs. Guests using an ECV are encouraged to transfer to a regular bus seat if they are able, but a wheelchair user does not need to transfer simply to use the bus.
Disney Skyliner: wheelchair and ECV users can remain in their mobility device. At Hollywood Studios, guests who need accessible boarding are directed to a separate loading position where a gondola can be held stationary. The wheelchair or ECV rolls directly into the gondola; the cabin then rejoins the moving line. At the destination it can again be routed through the accessible unload so the guest has time to roll out.
FriendShip Boats: these connect Hollywood Studios with the BoardWalk, Yacht & Beach Club and Swan/Dolphin resort area. Wheelchair access depends on the particular boat and current water level, because the height between the dock and boat can change. Where accessible boarding is available, a wheelchair can remain in the chair and roll aboard; check with the Cast Member at the dock before joining the queue.
BoardWalk, Yacht Club, Beach Club, Swan and Dolphin are also connected to Hollywood Studios by a paved walking route. For someone using a wheelchair or ECV this avoids a vehicle transfer completely, but it is a meaningful distance rather than a short entrance walkway.
Driving & Parking Parking costs, accessible parking and the route in
Hollywood Studios has its own parking area, so there is no separate transport hub between the car park and the park entrance.
Standard parking: $35 per day for a car or motorcycle. Preferred parking: currently $50–$60 per day depending on date. Oversized vehicles are $40 per day. One theme-park parking payment is valid at all four Walt Disney World theme parks for that day. Standard parking is included for registered Disney Resort hotel guests and eligible Annual Passholders.
Guests with a valid disability parking permit can use the designated Disability Parking Lot, positioned a relatively short distance from the park entrance. Standard parking charges still apply.
If you are bringing your own wheelchair or ECV, the Disability Parking Lot is the more useful option because the regular parking trams are not designed to carry an ECV. Guests using standard parking who can walk and board the tram can ask to be parked near a tram stop, but someone who needs to remain in their mobility device should plan around the accessible parking route instead.
Rideshare & Off-Site Uber, Lyft, taxis and hotel shuttles
Uber, Lyft, taxis and many off-site hotel shuttles use the transport areas outside Hollywood Studios, so unlike Magic Kingdom there is no Transportation and Ticket Center journey before reaching the park.
A standard Uber or Lyft vehicle will usually require a wheelchair user to transfer into the car and the wheelchair to be folded or stored if the vehicle can accommodate it. If someone needs to remain seated in their wheelchair, a standard rideshare should not be assumed to work.
Accessible Minnie Vans can be booked through the Lyft app and have two spaces for mobility devices, allowing guests to remain in their wheelchair or ECV for the journey. Minnie Van service is paid rather than complimentary.
Off-site hotel shuttles vary considerably. Some use wheelchair-accessible vehicles and others do not, so check both the pickup timetable and the actual boarding arrangement with your hotel before relying on the service. A timetable saying “shuttle available” does not necessarily mean a guest can remain in a wheelchair while travelling.
Leaving at Night Closing-time crowds, pickups and getting back
The transport area can become very busy immediately after Fantasmic!, other nighttime entertainment and park closing, with bus queues, rideshare pickups and the Skyliner all receiving a sudden rush of guests.
If you use a wheelchair or ECV, remember that accessible spaces on Disney buses are limited — most buses have room for up to two mobility devices. If those spaces are already occupied, you may need to wait for another bus even when ambulatory guests are still able to board the current one.
The Skyliner remains an accessible option for wheelchair and ECV users, using the separate stationary loading process rather than requiring a transfer out of the mobility device.
FriendShip Boat availability and wheelchair boarding can still depend on weather, water levels and the boat operating at the time, so it is worth checking the dock before relying on the boat as your only way back to an EPCOT-area resort.
For rideshare, check the pickup point before requesting the car and allow for congestion around closing time. If a guest needs a wheelchair-accessible vehicle, arrange the appropriate vehicle rather than assuming any Uber or Lyft arriving at the pickup area will be suitable.
Accessibility & Planning
Practical information to help you plan your day and know what support and facilities are available around the park.
Guest Services
Guest Relations is available at the entrance to Disney’s Hollywood Studios for accessibility information, ticket questions and upgrades, Lost and Found, separated guest assistance and general park support. Disney’s Guest Experience Team can also be found around the park and can help with day-of-visit questions, My Disney Experience, wait times and general guidance. Disability Access Service (DAS) registration is handled through a live video conversation with Disney’s Accessibility Services rather than in person at Guest Relations, although registered DAS guests can get help with return times from Guest Relations or the Guest Experience Team.
Mobility & Rentals
Manual wheelchairs and ECVs can be rented at Oscar’s Super Service near the park entrance on a first-come, first-served basis; reservations are not accepted and availability is limited. Wheelchairs currently cost $12 per day, or $10 per day with an eligible multi-day Length of Stay rental. ECVs currently cost $65 per day with a refundable $20 deposit. Guests must be at least 18 and provide photo ID to rent either type. Rentals cannot be taken out of the park; if park hopping, return the device and present the rental receipt at the next park to collect another, subject to availability.
Quiet & Low-Sensory Spaces
Several locations around Hollywood Studios may provide somewhere to take a break when you need some downtime or a lower-stimulation environment. These include the area beside The Hollywood Brown Derby; the end of Pixar Plaza near the archway; the corridor between Toy Story Land and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge; areas beside First Order Cargo, Toydarian Toymaker and between Oga’s Cantina and Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run; and the Echo Lake area near Indiana Jones Adventure Outpost, to the right of 50’s Prime Time Café. First Aid and quick-service seating areas during quieter periods are also suggested. These are not dedicated sensory rooms, so noise and crowds can vary.
First Aid & Medical Support
First Aid is available during normal park operating hours, with nurses able to provide over-the-counter medication, bandages and other basic assistance. First Aid can also refrigerate medication, provide sharps-disposal containers and hold certain medical equipment. Restroom facilities at First Aid provide extra privacy for personal care, with exam tables and large cots that may be used as adult changing tables; a limited selection of incontinence products is also available. If further treatment is needed, complimentary transport to AdventHealth Centra Care can be arranged through First Aid.
Lockers & Storage
Keyless lockers are available for all-day rental on a first-come, first-served basis. Hollywood Studios offers small lockers measuring 12 × 10 × 17 inches for $10 per day and large lockers measuring 15.5 × 13 × 17 inches for $12 per day. Cash and major credit cards can be used at the self-service kiosk; guests paying with a Disney band or Disney Gift Card need assistance from the merchandise location nearest the lockers.
Accessible & Companion Restrooms
Accessible restrooms are available throughout Hollywood Studios, alongside single-stall, gender-neutral companion restrooms that provide additional space and privacy for a guest with a companion or caregiver. Companion-restroom locations include Pixar Plaza, Vacation Fun, Toy Story Land, Black Spire Outpost Courtyard and Market, Hollywood Tower Hotel, Grand Avenue and Sunset Showcase. Some companion restrooms have manual-flush toilets for guests who prefer more control over the flushing sound. Guests who need additional space for personal care or an adult changing surface can use the facilities at First Aid, where large cots are available.
